Ahh sisters:)

Bria and Nadia have become more interactive in the last couple of weeks. It is so sweet to see the bond already forming. Bria gets into Nadia's stuff, and on most days Nadia is nonchalant about it....Of course there are those days where Nadia is beyond annoyed with her little sister. Nonetheless, they are sweet together. As a working mother, sometimes I feel as though I miss out on a lot, however when I am able to catch moments like this on camera, it definitely makes me feel like I haven't missed a heartbeat.

Don't wake the ZOMBIE!

So I have heard a dozen times that Nadia sleeps with her eyes open. I have never really paid much attention to it, or really had the time to even care. However, today she decided to take a nap on our couch... and right before me, I was able to see it! She looks CRAZY! The pictures kind of scare me, but nonetheless, I will post them anyway for all to see my freak of a daughter sleeping with her eyes open.... Man, I love my Nadia!

In the dog house...Literally!

So this is Bria's new fascination! She has gone into Rocky's kennel at least 10 times today alone....She goes into his kennel and just hangs out and for some reason it maintains her attention for long periods of time....I don't get it, but I prefer it over her emptying my purse, eating Rocky's dog food, or sucking on the cord to the fan. She is turning out to have some attitude on her, and she just cracks me up....What did Anthony get himself into?!!! ha ha:)

Trying to blog....

Yes I know, I am the worst blogger known to mankind! I always try to think of something witty and fun to write, but always have writers block as soon as I sit. Of course I would like to blame it on the "no time" excuse, but really I just don't have a lot to say! I am typically not a whiner and I try not to write anything that would portray me as such. So I always try to think of something positive or exciting to post.....hence the few sporadic posts! I guess we are just living. The family is healthy and happy and that is all I could want and ask for.

finally....

So I am sure by now everyone is well aware that I am the worst blogger ever! Life has been busy! This is for Darcy who actually got on my case for not posting anything recent...and even then, that was weeks ago...so again, I am the worst! ha ha

Bria is now 6 months old. She is a doll! I cannot believe how incredibly sweet and laid back she is. She really only cries if she is wet or hungry, otherwise she is smiling and laughing. I keep wondering when she will "flip" because I never thought I deserved such a great baby based off the hell that I gave my parents. Bria is such a blessing, she has brought our family so much closer, oh I just love her!!

Nadia is a proud big sister. She changes diapers, feeds Bria, and gets her ready for bed. I never have to ask her to help because she is so eager to be a little mommy. Nadia is finishing up her kindergarten year and has recently received a math award....yeah for my little smarty pants! She will be 6 in May and continues to impress me daily with her vocabulary, sarcasm, and overall wittiness. She is a spitting image of me! One of Nadia's biggest accomplishments (in my opinion) this year was kicking a little boy in his nuts because he kissed her. She got a big fat HIGH FIVE for that one!!

Anthony and I are currently in escrow for our first home. We will be moving to Calimesa, CA which is on the outskirts of Yucaipa, CA. It is a quaint little town and country enough for him and city enough for me. The house is more than double the size we are in now, but needs a lot of TLC. The equity is there and it is an overall good investment. We are super excited, however the deal can potentially still fall through based on the selling bank...so keep your fingers crossed!

Also in the meantime I have been working on getting back into school for my second Masters Degree. With current state of the economy I have been unable to find a job! So I have decided to be a special education teacher and let Cal State find me a job (you have to have a job to be in the program). I would be contracted for 2 years, so by the time my contract would end, hopefully the education system will be in better shape...we will see!

Ultimately I am living on faith. I have decided to not stress over the small things, and even though I may not understand many things, I know that my Heavenly Father is watching out for me and directing my paths. Everything happens for a reason and timing is everything. I can definitely attest to that!!!

All in all we are all healthy and happy and working on building stronger relationships as a family as well as building stronger relationships with our Heavenly Father. As long as we have faith and endure to the end; anything is possible!

California Fires 2008

Well we actually made it through October without many wildfires. However the large fires started last weekend. Anthony called me from work seeing if I would "okay" his departure to the fire. Really this is his passion and something I know NOT to dispute. He was able to use some PTO and leave work and head out to Brea to receive his orders. He was there for 20 hours, that night he slept under the stars, in the dirt, with thick smoke surround, and froze his tooshie off. Afterwards they went to base camp to get their next assignment. There he was directed to go to Yorba Linda to control the area that had previously burned and assure that all hot spots were extinguished. The next couple of days he was stationed at various areas. He was with families that returned home to find they had lost everything. He would help them sift through the ashes to try to find lost treasures that may have surivied the heat. He was away from home for a good 72 hours, and now has an obsession with flashlights.....go figure:)

Time Flies.....

I was looking at this picture and thought to myself, this is 2 years old! We went to the fair with Anthony's brother and sis-in-law. I look at it and remember how happy I was. I was newly re-active in the church, I was taking temple prep classes, and I found the love of my life. It is amazing how "timing" is such a huge factor in our lives. I KNOW I wasn't meant to meet Anthony until the time I did. Both he and I had to go through all of our drama to better prepare us for each other. Had we not had really crap relationships we would not have know what we wanted in a spouse, nor would we have been ready to marry. In fact, because my first marriage was insanely dangerous to my mental health I was set on the idea to never marry again. A month after Anthony and I met, I knew that he was the one, however I wanted to wait a year before we married. I was so freaked out with the fast pace of our relationship, it took Anthony getting into a motorcycle accident and nearly dieing to get me on board. He broke two bones in his back while driving on the 91 freeway in the fast lane. The doctors said that he should have been hit by a following car and died. Since he wasn't hit, and broke 2 bones, the doctors then said that he should be paralyzed. Either way you look at it, it was a miracle that he was "okay". I remember being mad at him for getting into the accident because we had plans to do something fun that day and he ruined them. It wasn't until the next day that I realized that I almost lost him....and that is when it happened....I was ready to make things eternal so I could "claim" him in the hereafter. I never looked back, only forward. And here we are married, happy, and sealed. His timing is crazy and we as mortals will never understand his reasons. I am so thankful for all the crap I went through because I know it prepared me to be a wife to Anthony. Enough rambling for a Tuesday night.... GO VOTE! Oh and motorcycles suck!!!!
